In challenging times such as these, perhaps the Connections Stewardship's “Mission Freedom” Appeal might be the most important for you. This campaign utilizes the same process described in the Mission Forward Campaign.

With the Mission Freedom Campaign, your case statement would emphasize the yoke that your debt payments are to your ministry goals. We would help you develop a story-line that would bring excitement to an otherwise ominous topic – debt. The old concept that “debt is good for your congregation” is exactly the opposite of what

we at Connections Stewardship believe! 

 

Debt means sending a portion of your members loving offerings to the bank for interest payments – ouch! John Cross, in particular, became the “Mission Freedom” go-to consultant when he was previously associated with a large stewardship firm. For some reason, he likes debt reduction campaigns!

Paying off the debt gives your congregation Mission Freedom! It is a concept that many of your people will embrace.

If your debt is relatively small, Mission Freedom could be one of many components of a Mission Forward.
